SUMMARY:ORANGE F.O.O.D WEEK
DESCRIPTION:Orange F.O.O.D Week – Australia’s longest-running regional food festival\nWill be held from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 April 2018 in the Central West region of New South Wales. Just a 3.5 hour drive from Sydney or Canberra\, Orange is also accessible by air from Sydney\, Brisbane and Melbourne.\nNow in its 27th year\, Orange F.O.O.D Week has been recognised as one of New South Wales’ most significant tourism events as a finalist in the 2017 NSW Tourism Awards\, and has secured its position as one of Australia’s most loved food and wine festivals.\nPresident of Orange F.O.O.D Week\, James Sweetapple says: “What started out as a passionate idea amongst a small group of dedicated local foodies to promote the region’s incredible diversity of produce and talent\, has taken a quantum leap in the last decade. Orange F.O.O.D Week has evolved over the years into a significant platform for the elevation of tourism to the Orange region and its surrounding districts of Cabonne and Blayney\, and the positive flow-on benefits to the local economy have been indicative of its success.”\nSustainability is at the heart of the Orange region’s producers and vignerons\, and in 2017 the Orange F.O.O.D Week organising committee implemented an event sustainability management system for the festival\, in accordance with ISO 20121 and in line with the ethos of the United Nation’s ‘International Year of Sustainable Tourism’.\n“Here in the Orange region we work with the rhythm of the seasons\, and believe we have a duty to protect\, restore and regenerate our land ready for the next generation of producers and winegrowers. We also aim to ensure that Orange F.O.O.D Week grows sustainably and continues to contribute to the region year-round and open it up to both Australia-wide and international visitors in the foreseeable future\,” adds James.\nWith the Orange region now renowned as one of Australia’s leading cool climate wine growing regions\, Orange F.O.O.D Week is an annual celebration of the produce and wine of the region held in April at harvest time. \n“Every year\, Orange F.O.O.D Week is an opportunity for residents to share with our visitors and guests the abundance of our local produce\, in a vibrant atmosphere where producers are literally bringing in the bounty straight from the farm gate to the table\,” continues James.\n“However\, we’re not limited just to a two-week festival at harvest time as every week is food and wine week in the Orange region. We would encourage and welcome visitors to return and savour our four very distinct seasons\, more than 50 restaurants and cafes\, and over 40 cellar doors at any time of the year.”\nOrange F.O.O.D Week signature events such as the F.O.O.D Train\, FORAGE and the Autumn Grazing Dinner in Blayney now sell out well before the festival\, with the 1\,500 tickets to FORAGE being sold out last year within the first 15 minutes of going on sale to the public.\nSavvy festival-goers become Friends of F.O.O.D members to gain exclusive access to pre-sale tickets for the festival’s signature events. Members will receive a monthly e:newsletter with updates on the Orange region’s food and wine events throughout the year\, because every week is food and wine week in the Orange region.\nTo sign up as a Friend of F.O.O.D visit:\nwww.orangefoodweek.com.au

The awards will be presented in four categories: leader in a restaurant management role; leader in a front of house role; leader in a back of house role and leading woman in foodservice (restaurateur\, business owner\, supplier or service to the sector). \nBeyond the opportunities to learn from some of the industry’s best and engage with peers\, the Women in Foodservice event is also about giving back. All profits will go to two charities: Women in Hospitality\, an organisation that supports and fosters career development of women in the hospitality industry\, and Outback Spirit Foundation which has two goals: to help Aboriginal enterprises raise money to grow and market native ‘bush’ foods\, and to facilitate agricultural and market links between buyers and sellers with their agricultural output in regional and national markets. \nMinnie Constan\, Fine Food Australia Event Director\, sees the Women in Foodservice Charity Event as an integral part of the wider show. “Fine Food Australia is about learning\, discovering\, exploring and networking\, and the Women in Foodservice Charity Event is all of that\, with the impetus to support and encourage a section of the workforce that has previously been largely overlooked. Fine Food has always been about being at the forefront of industry innovation and change\, and we’re proud to be leading the discussion on what matters.” \nFine Food Australia is the country’s largest and most relevant food and hospitality event\, showcasing everything from specialty and bulk foods\, beverages\, cooking and hospitality equipment and machinery\, to bakery products\, coffee and emerging food trends. The event educational classes\, demonstrations\, and competitions\, as well as the opportunity to build relationships\, drive business\, and be inspired about the industry. \nFine Food Australia Women in Foodservice Charity Event \nWhen:                         Wednesday 13 September\, 10.30 – 12.30 \nWhere:                        Cyren\, Darling Harbour \nTickets:                       Available online: http://finefoodaustralia.com.au/whats-on/women-foodservice-event/ \nFine Food Australia \nWhen:                         11 – 14 September 2017 \nHours:                         Mon – Wed 10am – 6pm; Thu 10am – 4pm \nWhere:                        ICC Exhibition Building\, Sydney\, Darling Harbour \nRegistration: http://finefoodaustralia.com.au/ \nFine Food Australia is strictly a trade only event. SUMMARY:COMMERCIAL DRINKS SHOW
DESCRIPTION:SHOWCASING CRAFT\, ARTISAN AND QUALITY: AUSTRALIA GETS A NEW EVENT DEDICATED TO THE ON-PREMISE LIQUOR INDUSTRY \nFrom the team behind the nation’s largest and most respected food trade event\, Fine Food Australia\, comes an event dedicated solely to Australia’s $16 billion on-premise liquor industry\, Commercial Drinks. Launching in Sydney this September\, and co-located with Fine Food Australia\, Commercial Drinks will provide licensed hospitality operators the opportunity to browse and taste a range of high quality liquor products\, and refine drinks lists to make them more profitable. \nHigher discretionary household income and changes in perceptions of health and wellbeing have recently shifted consumers towards spending more on alcoholic drinks\, whilst actually drinking less. Overall market value has increased by 1.5% despite a 0.6% decline in quantity consumed. This shift has led to increased competition in the hospitality market\, with operators wrestling for loyal and repeat customers. Quality and character are now more crucial than ever to business success and Commercial Drinks will be the perfect destination to discover unique tastes from the best suppliers. \nOn show at Commercial Drinks will be over 50 brewers\, distillers\, wineries\, distributors\, wholesalers\, importers and exporters\, with a focus on unique tastes from craft and artisan producers. Licensed businesses with an interest in discovering new products\, including bars\, pubs\, clubs\, restaurants\, licensed cafes\, caterers\, hotels and accommodation\, will be invited to attend. The co-location of Commercial Drinks with Fine Food Australia also means trade visitors have one destination to find all of their food\, beverage\, equipment\, technology and fit-out needs. \nCommercial Drinks will also put on a four day programme of business sessions\, at the Winterhalter Speak Easy Stage. The educational programme will focus on trends in drinking out\, the business behind building profitable menus\, and issues affecting the industry. The Australian Liquor Marketers Networking Lounge will provide a space on the show floor for visitors and exhibitors to connect and do business. \nIndustry renowned ‘Beer Diva’ Kirrily Waldhorn has come on board as Commercial Drinks’ Beer Partner\, and says of the event’s relevance and importance\, “Australia’s craft beer landscape is becoming increasingly competitive. The key to the growth of our industry is developing long-term\, sustainable relationships with trade\, across a wide range of channels.” Respected wine marketer\, David Messum\, from Just The Drop\, is also contributing expertise on the wine industry for Commercial Drinks. \nCommercial Drinks is sure to be a unique and enriching experience for anyone in the on-premise liquor industry looking to grow or improve the way they do business. \n  \nCOMMERCIAL DRINKS ANNOUNCES EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS WITH LIQUOR INDUSTRY LEADERS \nCommercial Drinks\, Australia’s newest and most exciting on-premise liquor industry event\, has confirmed a lineup of industry authorities to help curate a rich educational program to take place on the Winterhalter Speakeasy Stage.\nFinalising the selection of drinks industry insiders\, Nigel Weisbaum of Archie Rose Distilling Co. has just been appointed the official Spirits Ambassador for Commercial Drinks. He joins already appointed Commercial Drinks Beer Partner Kirrily Waldhorn (of The Beer Diva) and Drinks Education Curator David Messum (of consultancy Just the Drop). \nThe trio of experts has been tasked with crafting an educational program that covers the most pertinent issues and challenges faced by bars\, clubs\, restaurants\, cafes and any other business licensed to serve alcohol on-premise. The insight that these industry leaders bring to Commercial Drinks creates an exceptional opportunity for visitors to acquire immediately actionable learnings and take-aways that span a broad range of issues including\, drinks list profitability\, pairing drinks with food\, how to get the best out of staff and the pros and cons of supplier contracts. \nThe Commercial Drinks exhibition and the education on offer come to the market at a crucial time for the liquor industry\, as consumers move towards drinking less\, but are spending more with the expectation of higher quality. It’s now more important than ever for businesses to inject unique character to their drinks offerings in order to differentiate themselves in a competitive environment\, whilst also remaining profitable. Commercial Drinks will provide the ultimate opportunity to learn how to respond to and capitalise on this trend. \nThe full Winterhalter Speakeasy Stage educational program will be announced shortly. \nOver 3\,000 on-premise liquor buyers are expected to visit Commercial Drinks\, not only to browse premium beer\, spirits and wine brands from nearly 60 exhibitors\, but also to gain new ideas that will help them improve the way they do business. Taking place over four days at the newly built ICC in Sydney\, the show is co-located with Fine Food Australia\, the country’s leading event for the food industry. \nWhen:  11 – 14 September 2017 \nWhere:  International Convention Centre Sydney\, Darling Harbour \nRegistration:  Registration opens in March 2017 \nCommercial Drinks and Fine Food Australia are strictly trade only events. Children are not permitted. \nwww.commercialdrinks.com.au
