Lovely freshness here with a bouquet of honey and vanilla and nicely focussed and well-developed flavours on the phenolic textured palate showing fine persistent bubbles.

A remarkable wine for its age. Lovely, evolved toasty/glacé fruit fragrances and a powerful, soft, full flavoured palate still showing great drive and energy.

Lively and complex style showing great colour for its age. Has oaky/tarry aromas with dark cabernet fruit still obvious on the palate. A beautifully evolved wine. 3-5

A well advanced shiraz. Very developed nutty/honeyed aromas and attractive mature flavours. Drinking well now.

A complex and beautifully aged semillon with a nose that’s all toasty and buttery with tropical touches and a creamy mouthful of honeyed flavours. Still an amazingly sound wine.

Still amazingly alive for a fourteen-year-old! Brilliant earthy/nutty aromatic complexity and lovely developed cedary/leathery characters on the beautiful rich palate.

A very oaky, but very nice, wine that has plenty of life to it. Some nice bottle age evident with leathery aged notes and a soft finish.

Cedary/vanillin fragrances with fruit that has minty/menthol notes. Great palate structure, very concentrated flavours and still has plenty of life left in it. Loads of acid.

A lovely style that has a savoury, buttery nose showing some lovely oaky complexity which then flows through onto the long, steely palate with its slight slatey-like character.

Beautiful toasty oak notes on the nose. The dark fruit palate is quite lean and tight and still very fresh with many years left. 5+

A tight, old world, cool climate cabernet with an evolved and open oak/cassis bouquet. Velvety smooth in the mouth with great acidity and intense, dry, flavour profile.

A big, rich, robust Champagne nose- all yeasty and toasty with some toffee elements. Beautifully aged palate – yet still fresh and lively with mouthfilling sherberty flavours. Very classy number!

A beautifully aged wine. Nose is nutty and layered with sweet oak elements. Quite a lifted zippy palate for its age with long lingering flavours with a slightly tannic finish.

A serious style. Great nose – all Marmite and yeast like from the autolysis. Excellent palate line and length with seamless balance between the fruit and aged characters.

Rich creamy and spiritous experience with bright fruit and driven by the yeast autolysis – one judge described it as, “A bit like having lunch with Stephen Fry – made me feel intellectually inferior!”

Nose is a rich indulgence of honey, cream and toast. Rich, warm and ripe in the mouth with great flavour integration and held up by a tight line of acid.
