Richly perfumed, this youthful wine was estate-grown in the lower Wairau Valley and mostly tank-fermented; 5% was handled in old oak. Light lemon/green, it is sturdy (14.5% alc/vol) and smooth, with ripe pear, lychee and spice flavours, showing excellent delicacy and depth. A powerful, harmonious wine with a touch of complexity, it shows strong personality. $24 (A, UK)
